PURPOSE
Meet Victoria, a senior BBA Banking & Financial Technology student at the University of Doha for Science & Technology whose journey has been shaped by debate, leadership, and a willingness to grow beyond the path she originally imagined.
At just 16 years old, Victoria began her journey with QatarDebate, eventually building nearly five years of experience as a debate coach while continuing to compete, lead, and develop as a speaker. What began as an interest in debating grew into a journey of remarkable achievement.
IMPACT
As the Leader of the UDST English Debate Club, Victoria has helped build a lasting culture of debate on campus, leading the club toward top speaker awards, championship titles, and international educational opportunities.
For Victoria, leadership has never been simply about holding a title. It has been about creating opportunities for others to find their voice.
Through coaching, mentoring, collaboration, and meaningful discourse, she has helped inspire a community that continues to grow, one where students are encouraged to challenge ideas, listen to different perspectives, and become more confident communicators.
Her journey is a reminder that the experiences we collect along the way can shape us in ways we never expected. What began with debate became a foundation for leadership, community-building, and personal growth.
Victoria has earned recognition including:
- Overall Best Speaker across all speakers in Qatar, WUDL 2025-2026
- 8-Time Top Speaker Medalist across QUDL Debate Seasons
- Finalist in QD British and Asian Parliamentary competitions, including 2 Grand Finalist titles
- 2-Time UDST Most Active Club Awardee
- Most Active Club Leader Nominee
Yet, her journey cannot be measured by awards alone.
LOOKING AHEAD
As Victoria approaches graduation, she is carrying these experiences forward with a clear ambition: to pursue corporate law, bringing with her the critical thinking, communication, advocacy, and leadership skills that debate has cultivated throughout her journey.
Her story proves that success does not always follow a straight line. Sometimes, the unexpected turns become the experiences that define who we become and where we are ultimately meant to go.
“Forgive yourself. Don’t fear moving forward, don’t fear being too slow, don’t fear taking breaks; as long as, eventually, you move.”
